Specific inspiratory muscle training in well-trained endurance athletes
Article Abstract:
Specific inspiratory muscle training can improve muscle strength and performance in athletes but does not improve aerobic capacity or arterial oxygen desaturation during exercise. This was the conclusion of a study of 20 endurance athletes.

Physiological responses to incremental exercise in patients with chronic fatigue syndrome
Article Abstract:
Patients with chronic fatigue syndrome performed incremental exercise in order to compare their physiological responses to a control group. Patients with chronic fatigue syndrome demonstrated lower cardiac and respiratory functions during the exercise, possibly indicating that these lowered responses are part of the pathology of chronic fatigue syndrome.

Preferred transition speed between walking and running: Effects of training status
Article Abstract:
The study carried out to identify the preferred transition speed (PTS) between walking and running and the energetically optimal transition speed (ETOS) in runners and nonrunners is described. The study showed that the preferred PTS is slower than the EOTS and the PTS and ETOS are not dependent on the aerobic capacity or the training status.
