Changes in the competition rules at the Big Boat Series at San Francisco Bay means that many more sailors can meet weight requirements without having to compromise on carrying enough liquids that are so vital to stay hydrated during a race. Competition authorities are continuously trying to make races more interesting by helping sailors.

South Africa hosts Laser Worlds
Article Abstract:
The sailboat racing championships were held Apr 1996 in False Bay, 20 mi south of Cape Town, S Africa. Three championship races were held: World Championships, Open Radial Championships, and Open Masters Championships. About 77% of the entrants in the Ensenada race did not finish.
