Racing for the Wilson Trophy

The Wilson trophy is the world's oldest and most competitive dinghy racing event. It is held annually in a man-made, cement-walled lake in West Kirby, England. The Spinnaker team from Southampton, England, was hailed the 1998 champion after beating the American team, lead by Graham Woodworth.

The 505 sailboat boasts of its smooth and hydraulically dampened speed. This feature has made it very popular among American sailboat aficionados. Around 106 boating teams coming from 10 different countries participated in the International 505 championship held in Cape Cod in Sep 1998.
