Fly-tying is not only a useful art, but it can also be good therapy. Many fly fishers began tying their own flies because they could not find what they wanted commercially, and the experience of using their own flies taught them how to create improvements. Fly-tying experiences are discussed.

Escaping gravity
Article Abstract:
The experience of taking three young bird dogs to the country for exercise is described. Two of the dogs found and pointed a covey of partridges, while the third engaged in a long chase of a fox. The fox eventually got away, but the chase was a joy to watch.

Tender venison

Tender venison is obtained by shooting, dressing and aging the deer. It should be opened from throat to tail for quick cooling. Organs should be removed and the deer left hanging for a week before butchering. Two recipes are given.
