A bow sight will increase shooting accuracy dramatically, but there are more than 100 different types. It is best to select a simple sight for field hunting. Crosshair sights and pin sights are described, with recommended bead sizes and pin settings given.

Computer programs can help bowhunters calculate the trajectory of their arrows. Hunters can increase arrow speed by using lighter arrows or by increasing the draw weight of the bow, but these strategies can also reduce accuracy.

A sacred moment in grizzly country

A hunter describes a trip to shoot grizzlies in Alaska. He shot a large grizzly that was over 9 feet tall. Another hunter in the group had shot a 7-foot grizzly earlier that same afternoon.
