Sportboats, the handicapper's dilemma

Handicapping sportboats remains difficult because almost all sportboats are different from each other in terms of design and performance. The most common handicapping system used for competitions is the Performance Handicap Racing Fleet format. Factors to determine what boat qualifies as a sportboat are presented.
