Riviera Country Club, the site of several champion golf tournaments, has a long history of hosting celebrity golfers. Built in the 1920s, it was a favorite haunt of W.C. Fields, Elizabeth Taylor and Douglas Fairbanks. Ben Hogan won the U.S. Open there in 1948.
