Replacing solid panels with cane went a long way toward ventilating the boat's deepest recesses and keeping mildew at bay. The replacement of plywood, a Westsail 32 with pre-woven cane to improve the ventilation in all the lockers in Dharma III, is discussed. The detailed procedure, which includes the fitting of the cane, finishing and others, is described.
