Stop doubles players' free ride
Article Abstract:
The quality of competition in doubles tennis has declined despite the increase in prize money. Organizers should reduce the draws to 16 teams and institute a more compact four-day event to raise the level of competition. Doubles players should also do their share in promoting the sport.

Distractions

Players have numerous complaints about distractions affecting their play at the US Open. Some of the problems include too much noise, smoke and papers being blown across the court, shadows, blimps and bugs.
