Stressors, social support, and effects upon performance in golf
Article Abstract:
The performance outcome of male golfers was recorded on measures of social support and stressors before competitions to examine the main and stress-buffering effects of social support upon sports performance. Stressors were associated with worse performance whereas social support was associated with better performance suggesting that social support might aid performance directly, regardless of the level of stress.
