Back in a flash
Article Abstract:
Backstroke swimmer Lenny Krayzelburg offered some tips to help those who desire to swim the backstroke faster but more comfortably. For instance, keeping one's head very low in and parallel to the water line without tucking in the chin and with only the face above the surface helps keep the hips higher and keeps the swimmer relaxed. Making sure that each shoulder completely clears the water during recovery on each stroke cycle will make for more power and speed.

Come to your senses
Article Abstract:
The primary talent of swimmers is kinesthetic awareness or muscle sense. They easily sense rhythm, relaxation, water pressure, and the correct body position. However, anybody could develop an awareness of the water by retreating from old swimming habits. Exposing the body to any unfamiliar movements could help in the process. The skin is the biggest sensory organ in the water. Thus, it plays a big role in drills for sensory swimming.
