Comparison of sympathetic nerve responses to neck and forearm isometric exercise
Article Abstract:
This article compares the sympathetic and cardiovascular responses of the neck extensors and forearm to isometric contractions. Results indicate that neck extension exercises evoked increases in cardiovascular and sympathetic nerve activity, but created a lower peak response when compared to handgrip exercises.

Sympathoadrenergic mechanisms in reduced hemodynamic stress responses after exercise
Article Abstract:
Research shows that After an acute exercise bout blood pressure decreases as a response to stress, which in turn leads to a decrease in sympathetic drive reflected in reduced plasma norepinephrine and elongaion of preejecion peiod. These reduced hemodynamic responses due to stress result in increases in cardiac and vascular beta-adrenergic receptor responsivity.

Exercise and hypertension
Article Abstract:
An evidence based review of the current state of knowledge on exercise and hypertension (HTN) is presented by American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) due to HTN being the most common medical disorder associated with an increased incidence of all cause, cardiovascular (CVD) mortality. The need for lifestyle modifications as well as exercise for the prevention, treatment and control of HTN along with a proper exercise prescription for people with HTN is presented.
