A new system by the Apple iPod is the Model Twelve Portable Music System made by Cambridge Soundworks which is designed to operate on 12 volts DC as well as 110 volts AC, so it's easily adapted for marine use. The Model Twelve consists of two two-way satellite speakers, a small matched amplifier, and a subwoofer.
