Article Abstract:
Twenty-five years after the tragic 1979 Fastnet Race, the offshore sailing community works on improving the safety of the yacht. Some of the safety improvements recommended in the modern yacht design include rigid construction, lightweight hulls and rigs, narrow beam, bulb keels, watertight compartments, and larger superstructures that will help a rolled boat come upright.

The fans of the Challenger Cup in the U.S. follow the BMW Oracle Racing when they play international game in the European market, even when it is difficult for the organization to generate interest on a grand scale at home. However, the BMW Oracle's finishing second in the fleet racing is a solid showing in the team since BMW Oracle Racing is the lone American Challenger.
