Some of the fishing and hunting highlights in the Northeastern states are described, along with various public land areas in the region. The Northeast has recovered from the era of slash-and-burn logging, and with environmental recovery has come a renewed variety of fish and game.

Lake Michigan smallmouths
Article Abstract:
Smallmouth bass is flourishing in northern Lake Michigan. They can be found near rocky shorelines, reefs, islands and water up to 20 feet deep. Waughoshance Point in Wilderness State Park northeast of Sturgeon Bay is a favorite spot for smallmouth fishing.
