The SPCZ: more than alphabet soup
Article Abstract:
The SPCZ is an area in the South Pacific where southeasterly and easterly trade winds converge, causing persistent cloud bands and affecting atmospheric circulation patterns. Evidence indicates that it is linked to the El Nino phenomenon. Sailing in the SPCZ is discussed.
