An overview is presented of Takahiro Omori of Japan, and his participation in the BASSMASTER's Angler of the Year competition in Osage Beach, Missouri, United States. Omori is one of several young Japanese competitors who have made a significant impact on the professional bass fishermen tour.

The new bass masters: the old guard's discovering that a little learning can be a dangerous thing
Article Abstract:
Longtime bass fishermen who participate in tournaments are not having the same success as younger fishermen. Older fishermen did not begin their professional bass fishing lives until 1981, and have not had much opportunity to develop such a career. Younger fishermen are well educated.
