In late 2000, Stephen R. Smith pruchased the small town of Lajitas, Texas for $4 million dollars and invested $100 million dollars in establishing The Ultimate Hideout. The Ultimate Hideout is a complex which features a 7,500-foot airstrip, an 18 hole golf course, lodging, restaurants, and a conference center.
