HMCS Oriole, the Royal Canadian Navy's 102-foot ketch is the oldest commissioned vessel and is referred to as 'the People's Boat' or the 'Grand old lady of sail'. Racing is an important part of Oriole's agenda having won many races, but its main functions are cruising, attracting cadets for recruitment and training naval cadets.

Mysterious Main Duck

A forgotten Main Duck Island, Canada that is nestled in the northeast corner of Lake Ontario is discussed in relation to its remoteness and beauty. The island's asymmetry makes it a unique place while it has several large coves on its north side that are hospitable anchorages in calm weather.
