A golfer's head can be swiveled to the right during the start of the backswing, but the left eye should be focused on the ball. The head can move laterally to the right during the backswing and bow slightly at impact.

Shifting the weight completely to the left side during impact can cure a tendency to hook a golf ball. Rotating the right hip and shoulder will keep the center of gravity over the ball.
