The cadence question: is it time to modify the pedal-fast prescription?
Article Abstract:
Research has produced conflicting results on the importance of maintaining a high cadence when bicycling. Some studies show optimum cadence to be as low as 60 revolutions per minute (rpm) while others say cadence should be as high as 110 rpm. Most people will find 80 to 85 rpm the best speed.
