The continuous measurement of the springboard reaction force in gymnastic vaulting
Article Abstract:
A new approach is established for the continuous measurement of force applied from a springboard to a gymnast in vaulting (board reaction force). The new approach successfully shows transient changes of the board reaction force. The horizontal and vertical components of the peak values of the board reaction force are found to be three and two times greater than the average values.

Kinematic measures and stroke rate variability in elite female 200-m swimmers in the four swimming techniques: Athens 2004 Olympic semi-finalists and French National 2004 championship semi-finalists
Article Abstract:
The study assessed the stroke rate variability among female swimmers who participated in the 200m swimming events in all the four swim techniques in the 2004 Olympics and the 2004 French National championships. Results revealed that the variation in stroke rates was dependent on the biomechanical requirements and the level of the swimmer.
