The effect of encapsulated soluble fiber on carbohydrate metabolism during exercise
Article Abstract:
Studies show that encapsulated soluble fiber does not impact metabolic responses during exercise. Although previous research indicates fiber reduces insulin changes and plasma glucose after oral glucose administration, these findings are not reproducible in subjects who ingested the fiber along with a carbohydrate feeding, then exercised. Muscle glycogen utilization was also unaffected.

Effects of anabolic precursors on serum testosterone concentrations and adaptions to resistance training in young men
Article Abstract:
This article examines the effects of dietary supplements containing androstenedione on testosterone levels, body composition, and muscle strength after an eight-week resistance training program. Results indicate that the supplements did not increase serum testosterone levels or exercise-induced strength gains and had no inhibitory effect on androstenedione-related estrogen production.

Testosterone prohormone supplements
Article Abstract:
The safety and efficacy of androstenedione, DHEA, androstenediol, 19-nor androstenedione, and 19-nor androstenediol supplements is reviewed. The findings from research indicate that use of prohormone nutritional supplements (DHEA, androstenedione, androstenediol, and other steroid hormone supplements) does not produce either anabolic or ergogenic effects in men.
