A Canadian couple embarks on a journey to the Bahamas aboard a 44-foot ketch named the Destiny. Harsh weather conditions forced the couple to abandon their ship, which was eventually recovered by two commercial fishermen. The couple paid the fishermen a $14,000 salvage fee for the boat.

Wallace Clark organized a project to build a replica of an undecked galley or birlinn, based on computer analysis of 16th-century carvings. The galley made a voyage from Ireland to Scotland, powered by both sail and oars.
