New lands for the National Park System?
Article Abstract:
Three new proposed additions to the National Park System are Escalante National Park, UT, Idaho High Desert and Hell's Canyon/Chief Joseph National Park and Preserve. Those who would like to see these additions should let their legislators know.

Roads to nowhere: a Civil War-era law is the latest threat to wilderness and national parks

Developers have successfully used an old law to pave through wilderness areas. The US Department of the Interior has permitted developers to use this loophole to allow roads in Utah's Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and other places.
