A comparison of bicycle forks made by various maunfacturers was conducted, determining optimum performance in terms of torsion, splay, component materials and weight. The Kestrel EMS was considred the most durable while the Look fork by Veltec Sports was the lightest in the group.

Article Abstract:
Cyclists need not spend a fortune on weightless bikes. A viable alternative is to make some modifications in their existing bikes by replacing parts with lighter components. A '97 GT Rage roadster and Hiwassee single-tracker have been upgraded, resulting in lesser overall weights.

Maintaining elastomer forks
Article Abstract:
Bicycle elastomer forks require occasional maintenance to continue absorbing hits. Dirt entering the fork can be very troublesome so cyclists should wipe the dirt from the top of the upper tubes and check the boots before riding.
