The lob wedge has been around for almost 20 years but it is rarely used by amateur golfers. Despite the fact that statistics show it can reduce the number of game strokes, it is unpopular because most players do not use it properly. The proper techniques for using it in a variety of situations are described.

Article Abstract:
There are two ways to get a ball that is stuck in the sand on an uphill slope. One is to use a heavier club than normal for a sand shot and to take an uphill stance with shoulders parallel to the ground. The other technique is to use a normal sand club and hit the ball hard with a full backswing.
