The "pro test" nets much protest

A survey of tennis players indicated that they had negative impressions about their tennis teaching pros. About 64% of respondents said their pros did not help in arranging games, 81% said they were not given orientations when they joined a club and 77% said their pros did not check on the progress of their game.

The Wimbledon that wasn't

Seventy tennis players boycotted the 1973 Wimbledon Tennis Tournament over the suspension of Nikki Pilic from the game by the Yugoslav Federation for choosing not to play in the Davis Cup. Players felt that athletic associations had too much control over them.

Award style and even the score
Article Abstract:
A tongue-in-cheek account of different tennis techniques is presented. Extra points would be awarded for style and aesthetic quality. Players who are uncoordinated would have a chance to win against professional players.
