The majority of recreational skiers, who are no longer novices but still far from being experts, have an unrealistic attitude about their gear. Ski equipment used by professionals such as Hermann Maier not only will not improve their skiing, but will actually make them worse. Recreational skiers are encouraged to experiment with gear that matches their skill level and requirements. Tips on evaluating ski equipment and on which products to try are included.
