The rites of salvage
Article Abstract:
Assistance given to another vessel is considered 'salvage' by federal law if the assisted vessel is exposed to marine peril and if the salvor renders assistance readily. The amount of the salvage award depends on the degree of peril to which the vessel was subject and the salved value of the boat.
