Test comparisons were made for the Yamaha Pro V 150, a quieter running outboard engine, and the Yamaha Pro V Max. Both engines weigh the same, 419 lbs. Suggested retail for the V Max is $13,020 which is $1,900 more than the 1996 V 150. The V Max will not be available until September 1996.

Four 175-horsepower V-6 outboard engines were tested in a Pursuit 2100 Center Console motorboat: the Johnson SilverStar 195, Mercury 175, Suzuki DT175 and Yamaha 175. The strengths and weaknesses of each engine are discussed.
