Use of EMG analysis in challenging kinetic chain terminology
Article Abstract:
It appears that activities of similar mass of loading and biomechanical motions, the boundary condition notwithstanding, have similar electromyographic (EMG) values for primary muscle groups. It appears also that external load has more significance that boundary condition in describing human activity. A study has been carried out with a view to comparing mean integrated EMG values in biomechanically comparable open kinetic chain/movable no load, closed kinetic chain (CKC)/fixed external load, and movable external load exercises. No standardized quantitative definitions have been established for CKC activities.

Electromechanical delay in isometric actions initiated from nonresting levels
Article Abstract:
This article examines the relationship between electromechanical delay and force development in isometric actions starting from resting and active states. Findings indicate that electromechanical delay is involved in both kinds of isometric actions but is decreased during exertions beginning from active states and in those involving higher force development rates.

Shoe midsole longitudinal bending stiffness and running economy, joint energy, and EMG
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to quantify the effects of shoe midsole longitudinal bending stiffness on three different variables during steady-state submaximal running. The results showed that increased midsole longitudinal bending stiffness significantly improved running economy.
