Virtual reality is a more manageable and convenient alternative to treating acrophobia than the traditional therapy, in which patients overcome their fear of heights by visiting actual sites. Virtual reality is still a very new and little-used form of therapy.

Recent research in Sweden reveals that people under the age of 30 increase their risk for melanoma more than seven times if they use a tanning bed more than ten times a year. People who do not use tanning beds have a one in 200 chance of developing melanoma.
