Vitamin A may mitigate stroke
Article Abstract:
Doctors in Belgium determined that stroke patients who have higher levels of Vitamin A suffer fewer neurological side effects than people with lower levels of Vitamin A. The vitamin may act as an antioxidant to lower oxygen levels.

The US Public Health Service recommends that women of childbearing age take 0.4 milligrams of folate daily. An adequate intake would decrease the risk of neural-tube defects in babies, such as spina bifida.
