Inert gas analysis to stand the test of time
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to measure the concentration of inert gas oxygen on ships due to the risk of explosion in a tanker's cargo tanks, on the basis of three principal technologies viz., electrochemical sensors, zirconia analysers and paramagnetic analysers. It is suggested that those who are looking for lowest initial cost should opt for zirconia analysers and for maximum reliability one should opt for paramagnetic analysers, as electrochemical sensors are an option for personal monitors.
