Occupational electrical injuries in the United States, 1992-1998, and recommendations for safety research
Article Abstract:
The results of an analysis of Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries (CFOI) and Survey of Occupational Illnesses and Injuries (SOII) data revealing that electricity is a serious occupational injury problem is presented. CFOI and SOII data shows that 2,287 U.S. workers died an 32,807 workers sustained days away from work due to electric shock and electric burn injuries.

Safety with access scaffolds: development of a prototype decision aid based on accident analysis
Article Abstract:
The development of a prototype decision aid, to promote access scaffold safety is highlighted. The study conducted to examine the root-causes, and management deficiencies in paper based files of 186 access-related incidents held by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), and computer-based files of 2,910 incidents appearing in the HSE database.

The study conducted to examine the logging-related injuries in the Jilin Province of the People's Republic of China is described. The analysis of injury data from 1991 for the entire forestry sector in China, is highlighted.
