DMU: fast track to the future of rail?
Article Abstract:
The rail diesel car (RDC) developed by the Colorado Railcar works on the concept of diesel multiple unit (DMU). The benefits include cleaner, quiter rail transportation, and increased fuel economy. It does not need huge additional investment. The ultra low sulphur diesel is environment friendly. TriMet and Triangle Transit Authority (TTA) are two companies showing immediate interest in the concept.
