Older citizens in Europe have emerged as big-time spenders as eighty percent of the wealth in the region is in the hands of people above fifty, they have low mortgages, inherited wealth and above all no major financial commitments. It is found that they are the highest consumers of luxury cars or health club memberships and all efforts are being made to keep this group of people satisfied with activities or promotions being developed specially for them.

Childhood obesity, just like adult obesity, is a cause for serious concern for food manufacturing companies who are looking for ways to keep children interested in pre-packaged food. A number of companies have reworked strategies and are in regular consultations with nutritionists to develop low-fat, low-carbohydrate meals that will appeal to the child as well as the mother.
