Agents must join in the electronic revolution
Article Abstract:
Travel agents must keep abreast of new developments in the electronic industry if they want to stay in business. American Express has joined forces with Microsoft and within 12 months travellers will be able to book flights themselves without the need to use a travel agent. Agents will need to embrace the new technology and ensure they can access information on the Internet. Their role may change from getting the best price for the supplier to offering the customer a consultancy service ensuring cheap deals and quality advice.
