Canada bans European farm products

The Canadian government has imposed a ban on farm products from all European Union countries and Argentina after receiving confirmation that the food-and-mouth disease had indeed spread to France and Argentina. The ban applies to all imports of live animals, animal products and used farm equipment. Other products covered by the ban include cheeses made from raw milk, such as Camembert and Brie, meat products such as fresh fork from Finland and Denmark, and even semen and embryos used in livestock breeding.
