Burger King Canada President and CEO George Michel takes the challenge of lifting the company's position to second behind other burger chains. Michel knows the hamburger chain business, having worked for A&W as a cook before joining Burger King Canada. Since taking the helm at Burger King Canada in November 1996, Michel has been busy working towards making the company the No.2 among hamburger chains. One of Michel's first actions as head of the hamburger chain is to open an office in Montreal, Canada, so that advertising campaigns and strategies could be custom-made to suit the Quebec, Canada, market.

Mr. Submarine Ltd Pres John Tobin is credited for reinventing the tired image of the Toronto, Ontario-based sandwich shop chain. The company, established in the 1960s, has been given a modified name, MR. SUB, under Tobin's leadership. His other efforts, which include a new look for the stores, new sandwich offerings and products and a new management perspective to Mr. Submarine franchisees, have been translated to renewed profitability.
