Article Abstract:
There are indications that some themed restaurant operators are experiencing difficulties, and some observers are raising doubts about the sector's future. Some themed restaurants are among the highest grossing foodservice outlets in the world, but in general themed restaurants are facing problems with product mix and positioning. They tend to rely on gimmicks, and these are no longer sufficient to attract increasingly sophisticated customers.
