Healthy future
Article Abstract:
A 65-page report on the UK health and fitness sector, published by Mintel in April 1996, indicates that the market is becoming more and more sophisticated and is finally plausible. Consumer confidence and the economy have improved, and consumers have easier access to sports facilities. A tenth of adults use health clubs in 1996, up from 8% in 1993. Campaigns by BUPA and the Health Education Authority have given the public a better perception of health and fitness.
