Article Abstract:
The year 1996 was marked by lawlessness in Papua New Guinea just as the country entered the last year prior to elections. Papua New Guinea's Parliament had to lift its cease-fire policy to attempt a military solution to the intensifying rebel activities. Sir Julius Chan went ahead with his foreign policy despite strained relationship with neighboring countries. On the economic front, there was a noted slow down in economic development which was exacerbated by the break down of talks between the finance minister and the World Bank.

Architectural firm Wimberly Allison Tong and Goo (WATG) remains relatively unknown, even though it has been involved with a number of very high profile projects, according to Howard Wolff, the firm's vice president and corporate managing principal. WATG was involved in work in 34 different countries in 1995, and derives more than 80% of its business from completed work and satisfied clients. It is the eighth-largest architectural firm in the US, with a particularly strong presence in the leisure and hospitality sectors.

Cool gas in the Virgo Cluster?
Article Abstract:
Two different detectors have provided evidence of a region of cooler than expected condensed gas in the Virgo cluster. The cooler area may be a previously unknown part of the intracluster medium or a calibration detector problem. Additional explanations are discussed.
