John Rigby
Article Abstract:
A leisure attraction must have a strong theme if it is to be successful, according to John Rigby, a co-director with Tim Knowles of the Botany Bay Village antique, shopping and leisure centre near Chorley, England. When completed, this will have five floors of exhibits, along with a themed cafe and restaurant, a fire engine display and the largest indoor children's activity centre in the UK. The first phase will open in Dec 1995, while the second will include an over 25s nightclub/comedy club. The two partners have invested around 5 million pounds sterling in the scheme.

Room for change
Article Abstract:
The changing facilities at Britain's leisure centres have improved substantially to reflect a growing demand for quality services. There is a clear need for family changing areas, particularly since nearly two-thirds of customers are children. Facilities such as hair dryers and mirrors are commonplace. A number of considerations regarding changing area design are listed. High quality, well designed changing rooms have been proven to last after several years of intensive use.
