Article Abstract:
The Cyprus Tourism Organisation is introducing a number of initiatives design to shift the focus away from the island as a destination offering only sun, sea and sand. Its agrotourism scheme, for example, encourages visitors to stay in traditional-style village houses outside the main tourist resorts, giving them greater insight into the life of ordinary people on the island.
