Sonic boom
Article Abstract:
Simulation attraction managers have discovered the importance sound can make to the feel and enjoyment of a simulation ride. Consumers have grown accustomed to quality sound when visiting cinemas or watching television, making them wary of rides which fail to come up to high sound specification. Playback hardware, sound track production and the sound system should all be taken into consideration when investing in a simulation ride sound system. There are a large number of high-tech systems on the market, although there is no industry standardization which makes it difficult for buyers.

Heritage designers are increasingly experimenting with different media to deliver new and fresh attractions. The key to good heritage design continues to be an entertaining and educational story which will make visitors want to return. Among the leading exponents of heritage design are Jack Rouse Associates, currently transforming the USS Missouri battleship into a global visitor attraction, and The Visual Connection, which has been involved in a project for the Singapore Science Centre's new Aviation Gallery.
