The impact of 9/11 and other terrible global events on tourism in the United States and Hawaii
Article Abstract:
The terrorist attacks of 9/11 and subsequent terrible global events, which affected tourism flows are reviewed to ascertain the latest trends in travel and tourism in the US and Hawaii. The usefulness of vector error correction models to generate dynamic visitor forecasts is demonstrated to determine that tourism in Hawaii has recovered fully from 9/11 and other terrible international events and policy options is considered for facilitating the recovery of international tourism to the US.

Most economic impact studies are commissioned to legitimize a political position rather than to search for economic truth. It is observed that it results in the use of mischievous procedures that produce large numbers that study sponsors attempt to support a predetermined position.
