Ban on Sargassum Harvest Should Be Passed
Article Abstract:
The South Atlantic Fishery Management Council has called for a ban on the harvest of pelagic sargassum, a floating seaweed in the South Atlantic. But the National Maritime Fisheries Service disagrees, classifying the seaweed as a fish.

The Pew Oceans Commission and the Commission on Ocean Policy of US will focus on big issues such as fundamental changes in the make-up and respective responsibilities of National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) .It is also suggested that the new ocean policy discussion should also include an aspect, which is crafting a vision for our future fisheries.
