In geological terms, WashingtonEs Long Beach Peninsula is quite young, though its been formed about 10,000 years ago. Museums are expanding, monuments are being restored, and restaurants and hotels are opening to mark Lewis and Clark's big bicentennial celebration, which begins in 2005.
